I think to get it recognised as a MSFFB I basically had to remove every single reference to the connected USB device everywhere. However, I did get the joystick itself working and recognised as a MS FFB but I didn't get FFB working in any of the games I remember it working in. Technically, it's picking up all the buttons and axis, but I can't get FFB to work and IL2:BOS still doesn't even accept button clicks let alone an axis input.Ĭlick to expand.First thing's first - I did NOT download that driver, and I'd advise against download it yourself. Really annoying bit is how it sometimes pops up with the Windows 10 notification saying "Installing MS FFB2 blah blah blah" then adds it as a lame 4 axis 8 button joystick again. I've tried rebooting countless times, various USB ports and even tried uninstalling with USBDeview, but nothing changes. Really just want to smash it, but it's the best joystick in the world when it worksĪnyone got any old driver links or something?
Anyone got any hints how to get this thing working? I can only get it to appear as a "4 axis 8 button joystick with hat switch" in the usb game controllers dialogue (I could swear it used to appear as "MS Sidewinder" or something to that effect) and DCS isn't giving me FFB any more and IL2:BOS isn't even accepting input.
My MS Sidewinder FFB2 joystick has been working forever, but since a fresh OS install I can't get this buggering thing to work. I select it, go through the steps and get the 'Windows has finished installing the software to support your new hardware'īut it's still not in the list of Game Controllers, it still has a yellow band in Device Manager.ĭo you have any idea what on Earth is wrong because I'm just at a loss. Not sure on the best forum for this but thought I might as well try here. Now if I go to add a new controller Windows builds a new database of devices and I have access to 'Microsoft Hardware Group and can select Microsoft Sidewnider Force Feedback 2. So I ran the Joystick setup CD and still couldn't find the joystick.Īfter that I have 'Microsoft Sidewinder FFB2' showing up in Device Manager under Sound,Video and Game Controllers but with a yellow bang I select 'Add' but for some reason it doesn't show the Microsoft Hardware Group that contains my joystick. When I plugged it in it wasn't automatic plug and play but Windows found it when I went to 'Add New Hardware' it then added a Windows driver (prompted me for the Win98se CD) and I believe it added an HID to the device manager.Īs I speak my joystick LED light is on so that's a good sign but I can't add it to game controllers. What are the specs of the hardware you are using both your real hardware and the hardware being emulated by VMware? If it did not work in this case, then something is "abnormal" about your "PCI USB" device - either it does not behave like most USB2 controllers or it is in fact the USB3 controller being detected.
NUSB contains both drivers for Storage Devices and a USB 2.0 controller driver.
EXE and then when you reboot a driver should have been installed for the USB2 controller. You did remove the "PCI USB" device that has the Yellow Exclamation Mark from your system with the Device Manager BEFORE you installed NUSB, correct? You need to remove ALL USB devices and ALL "Other devices" with a Yellow Question Mark before you run the. After reboot windows did install the drivers but the PCI USB is unchanged. I don't have USB 2.0 drivers (that seems to be part of the pb in the first placeĥ. I don't have drivers for flash drives as far as I can tellĢ. I followed the instructions I'm pretty sure.ġ.
exe you linked but after restart the PCI USB in Device Manager still has a yellow bang.
